►About the Game -
Set in the Swedish archipelago in the 70s, take the role of 17-year old Linn as she returns to the island where she almost drowned as a child.

After a fight with her mother, Linn is left alone in the family's old summer home. There she finds an old spirit board, through which she finds herself communicating with Mikael, a strange entity with a secret it desperately wants to share with her.

Mikael will lead you on an increasingly bizarre treasure hunt through the island. You will be forced to rely on your wits and creativity to decipher the spirit board's cryptic clues - and to piece together a disturbing mystery about Linn's past that does not seem consistent with her own memories.

But you may also be forced to ask yourself a more pressing question: is Mikael really trying to help Linn - or to kill her.

  • Was that a bug, or did they just forget to give an alternate answer brcause you clearly asked what if you didnt want ir but the answer corresponded to…where(about the gift, sorry for the spoiler-ish comment)
Also, how do you remember complex maze-like layouts in games and find your way out but forget the "blue vase" so easily even when passing by about 10 times

  • Aside from the bugs – just in terms of both jumpscare horror and psychological horror this game killed it. A couple jump scares with chest infection Mike… A slow reveal about mother dearest, and a gruesome end that had no blood but kills you mentally. Well done. but fix the bugs.

  • Really dark, scary game. I thoroughly enjoyed, except I kept getting distracted every time you passed by the blue vase. Guess the Thenardiers won in this one.

  • Maybe there will be a part 2 called "Dottir" or something where the girl manages to escape and capture her mother and condemn her to live for eternity in a can of surströmming

  • one heck of an ending 🙁 I suppose even if she could have broken out, unless she can swim back to the mainland or call/signal for help, she's trapped on the island anyway. if mother dearest didn't stick around to finish her off, that is. that said, I loved the voice acting!

  • There's a shovel in the cellar though… I'm sure she could have used that for something… Like breaking the door to escape? lol

Game was pretty good besides the performance and glitch issues. Keep up the good work CJU 🙂

  • Chris, you never checked the blue vase like Mikael told you!

Unfortunately, the scam the mother in the game was running was a very common thing in the past. Not some sick idea made up for a game, it was real. Some women killed hundreds of children this way, and made off with the money.

  • This reminds me of the story of the serial killer Amelia Dyer, who ran what was known as baby farming in the mid to late 1800s. She would get paid by mothers to take care of their newborns and place them with adoptive families. But she would just pocket the money and then kill the babies. Her preferred method was strangling them with packing tape. It's estimated that she killed possibly up to 400 children over the course of 30 years before she was caught and hanged.

One of the things that got her on the radar of authorities was a governess who had given her a child but then married the father. She decided she wanted her baby back, only to find that the baby was nowhere to be found. The governess and her husband followed Amelia around for years trying to find their child. They got the police involved. Another woman sent Amelia many letters asking for promised updates on her daughter, who had never even made it alive back to Amelia's boarding house. Needless to say, her letters went unanswered. She also alerted authorities. Amelia was also seen throwing bundles into the Thames, some of which when fished out turned out to be corpses of babies. Over the years, I believe Amelia was arrested two or three times. She would plead insanity, get sent to a psychiatric hospital for a couple of years, and then just start baby farming in a new city when she was released.

The final straw was when an elderly woman whom Amelia had taken on as a partner began to wonder where all the babies were disappearing to. She noticed that babies she had kissed goodnight the evening before were not always the same babies she would see the next morning. Troubled, she ended up confiding to a man who worked at a children's rights organization. This is ultimately what got Amelia caught for the last time, with a rotting body on the premises that she hadn't yet disposed of with tape still around its neck.

She became known as the Ogress of Reading. Because of her, places began instituting more strict adoption regulations. Ironically, a few years after her death her daughter was arrested for doing the same thing.

  • Len might have survived because she was taken to the hospital so people were aware of her so if the angel maker tried to kill her again so soon it probly would have looked really bad? Maybe someone saw and she had to save her and pretend ?

  • The Skövde University that get’s a thank you in the credits have a game developer program.

My guess is that this is a student project.

The University is a Swedish University.
The names in the credits are mostly common Swedish names.
All the accents sounds like Swedish people talking English.
The game has a box with the text “Tvättmedel” on it which is the Swedish word for laundry detergent.

So the Mor in the title is most likely referring to the Swedish word for mother.

  • So basically you picked up the milk before breaking the vase and it skipped half of the steps, you break the vase, find the sticky note, find the soap, then the milk.

  • Her 'decision' that her mum was talking about, was that she wanted to go back to the house alone and her mother didn't want her to, hence their 'argument'. Which is why the daughter said 'you're not mad at me anymore'.
